The NC Foothills Are Full Of Festival Fun!

One of the most amazing things about being in this beautiful spot near Chimney Rock Park, where the Piedmont meets the blue hilly ranges, is the amount of activity once can participate in, if desired. We are advocates of the leisure and purveyors of relaxation on the property. Personally, Rob and I are rather busy, and keep our social calendar to a boring minimum. However, if you are a social butterfly there is always a festival to fit your mood. And really, who doesn't love one? The combo of fair-like food and too many people milling around with similar tastes makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. Subconsciously validating? Perhaps.

In our area Facebook is a great place to search for activities, especially festivals and other area events. All in one place, you can find get togethers like the Poelico Arts Music & Festival in early June as well as the Beer City Festival , falling on the same weekend, in Asheville. Up for a nice drive to a small town with all sorts of unusual festivals like the WNC Bigfoot Festival (September), The Livermush Festival (May), or The Hot Boiled Peanuts Community Jam (happening select Saturdays during the summer/fall)? If you like the windy roads and bucolic scenery take in a leisurely drive to the sweet little town of Marion, located to the north of us. If your time is short, and you prefer to stay close by, take in the ever popular annual Dirty Dancing Festival (September), Fabulous 4th of July (Columbus), and the growing Lake Lure Arts & Crafts Festival. Free scenic views at no cost included!

It's amazing that in a simple search "events near me," that I can come up with several festivals, almost any time of the year, that I was totally unaware of! In addition, there are too-many-to-mention events occurring at the wineries, brew pubs, farms, Tryon International Equestrian Center, and too many more to mention. From animal themed festivals like The Coon Dog Festival and White Squirrel Festival to foodie heaven like the Hendersonville Apple Festival and the Asheville Food Truck Festival there has to be something for everyone in your vacationing party to enjoy.

If you're planning to book us for your Lake Lure area vacation, be sure to check out the festivals and events listed on our Facebook page. We're continually adding more fun stuff to do.

Ciao!

Lisa
